Inventory

The inventory tab is not useful when you use the stock on a daily basis.
It is very practical, however, for the regular inventory that the accountant asks you to carry out.
Indeed, the operations required by an inventory are different from normal use, and sometimes performed by people unaware of the stock.
The inventory tab uses the notion of "real stock", i.e. what you have available to you, while SIM generally works with a "theoretical" stock, i.e. what you should have, or what you thought you had available to you.
The Inventory tab enables you to:

• Fill in the list of stock references with the theoretical quantities
• To easily complete with the actual quantities observed
• To visualize the differences
• Update the stock balance based on actual data

The inventory manages the same data as the products tab, with two additional columns:

Field	Format	Description
ID	Integer	Identifier.
Quantity	Decimal	Theoretical quantity, as it appears in the stock tab.
Real	Decimal	Quantity actually detected, otherwise -1
Difference	Decimal	Calculated automatically In purple the products have not yet been counted (quantity = -1) In red if products are missing In yellow if you have too many products In white if the theoretical quantity is detected.

Button	Action
Help	Opens a browser on the SIM website page.
Refresh	Displays all data in the database, regardless of previous searches. Also allows you to have up-to-date data in a multi workstation version.
New	Initializes the inventory with the theoretical stock data.
BarCode	Optional: allows fast entry of references with a barcode reader.
Export	Exports the displayed data in an Excel file, in the displayed order.
Clear	Deletes all products from the database, after confirmation by the operator.
Save	Updates stock quantities from actual value
Quit	Exits the software.

The inventory tab has been equipped since 2016 with buttons to make entries using a USB or OPH3000 scanner.
The operation is identical to the product tab.
It is possible to set the sound during a USB scan to distinguish a known barcode from an unknown barcode.
